Chapter Commentary - We Don't Need No Eggs You Cajun (Or Do We?)

This category pays tributes to those songs that make reference to education. Why is education so important to children, teenagers, and young adults?

For all the knocks on school, most people will agree that a good education is one of the most important things going for children, teenagers, and young adults. A good education can fill the mind full of knowledge, free the mind of ignorance, develop wisdom and valuable skills, present better career and financial opportunities, and allow the pursuit of dreams.

Yet, many young people do not take it serious and underachieve for various reasons. For the lucky ones, this will only set them back several years. For others, they may never recover, and it may set them back their whole life.

Frequently throughout this book it is mentioned that children, teenagers, and young adults do not have the faculties to make good judgment. This is not to put them down or their abilities, but just to recognize they have some limitations because they have not had the amount of time needed for their bodies and minds to fully mature, as well as acquire the necessary experiences to base good decisions on.

On the contrary, children, teenagers, and young adults have enormous potential in life, including intelligence, talent, skill, and personal inner beauty. It is painful to stand and watch idle as this potential is wasted. It is up to parents, teachers, and good neighbors that care to nurture this development. It is the belief that children, teenagers, and young adults have such enormous potential that should motivate society to make the necessary personal sacrifices to stand in solidarity to encourage their successful development.
