This category includes song quotes that make reference to infidelity and adultery (i.e., cheating on a loved one).
This is a subject matter that is difficult to comprehend. Why would someone knowingly hurt someone they love by cheating, being deceitful, and being dishonest? Unfortunately, it appears to be very normal and common in society, at least if one watches and listens to TV soaps, talk shows, TV specials, supermarket tabloids, and some contemporary music.
Some researches claim that most animals, even those previously believed to be staunchly monogamous, engage in cheating on loved ones or have "extra-marital" affairs. For example, some researches claim that even some South American marmoset and tamarin monkeys are believed to engage in infidelity.
Are we now reduced to rationalizing and justifying some of our wrong behavior because there may be some animals found in nature that humans may have evolved from or are similar in composition that are found to be unable to control their animal behavior? Is self restraint and control no longer applicable to human society? Some animals found in nature cannibalize or have incest with their young, does this mean humans should, too?
How can somebody knowingly hurt a loved one? What does it feel like to be on the hurting side of a relationship where a loved one has cheated, been insincere, and dishonest? What does breaking a commitment do to a relationship built on trust? How can innocent bystanders like children, family, community, and society be impacted negatively?
Human beings have 98% of their DNA in common with monkeys/apes, should humans fully regress and make it 100% or are we more capable and better?
