Chapter Commentary - Compliments (Kinda, Sorta, Maybe)

This category contains song quotes that can be taken as compliments...maybe.

There are some people in life who for various reasons have received little in terms of  compliments, encouragement, attention, friendship, love, and kindness.  Perhaps one of the reasons why some people are so negative, mean, nasty, and cruel is because nobody has taken the time to recognize them as a person worthy of love or showed them through example how to love.

Some believe that the act of giving is one of the greatest means of expressing love.  Can giving a person your time, gifts, and personal consideration show a person that you care and that they are worthy of love?  Is there anything more noble in life than giving to others or placing other people's needs before yours?   Can the giving of compliments, encouragement, attention, friendship, love, and kindness make a difference in peoples lives?

Furthermore, besides the giving aspect, there is the personal standard aspect.  Years ago in the United States, people were not given many of the opportunities that today's prosperous/spoiled generations have.  However, regardless of how down in life they were, they always looked upward for inspiration and forward toward a better future.  In addition, they always tried to maintain their civility, class, dignity, and politeness, because they had pride in character and higher purpose.  The highest honor a person could receive was to be regarded as a gentleman or a lady.  Over the last several decades civility and class appears to have been replaced by self-absorption, greed, apathy, inconsideration, laziness, and ignorance.  Why are civility, class, dignity, and politeness important to a society?

How does the way one distribute remarks impact the world around them, as well as reflect upon themselves?
